Working on 4 New Dolls

I began working on 4 new dolls today.

Here they are:

I've carefully wrapped the hair of each doll.
Next I'll bundle their bodies in tinfoil to protect them
from the acetone I use
to take off the makeup.

Next, I remove all the old paint.

Everybody has fresh faces now.
The painting will have to wait until tomorrow morning when it is cool.
It's so hot in Portland, Oregon right now
that the paint dries before I can spread it!

Stay tuned.
Hopefully tomorrow these girls will have new faces!

Millie!

Millie has beautiful, soft, long hair.
I dressed her in a cute outfit by TrailsCrafts on Etsy.
She's one of the few dolls I've repainted who wears jewelry.
It just seemed fitting.

Adele is Learning to Ice Skate!

When I first saw Adele, I thought she might be too far gone for my shop.
But I think she turned out really cute!
Her pink hair is just modern enough for Portland, Oregon,
and she comes with ice skates as well as boots.

Melody in Western Wear

When I first got Melody, her pretty face was covered in heavy makeup.
She got a complete makeover and her face was repainted.
I think she looks much happier!

Ellie Loves to Rollerskate!

Ellie LOVES to roller skate!
She is dressed in a pair of jeans and a simple teeshirt.
Her hair is in cute braids.

Doesn't she look better now?

Ellie had a few "chew marks" on her right leg from prior play.
I completely sanitized her body.
Then I made a permanent "ace bandage" from moldable plastic.
I've included a pair of cute boots in her package,
in case she wants to wear a dress.

These little dolls sometimes come with "boo-boos" and I do my best to mention them in the ad so there are no surprised.

The problems are always cosmetic, and when dressed, don't show.

I feel they are worth saving, even if imperfect.
Don't you agree?

Meet Heddy!

Heddy is my latest makeover.  Her hair took a long time to untangle, but now it is so soft and pretty!  And doesn't she look better with all that makeup washed off her pretty face?

A Few New Asian Dolls in My Shop

It seems there are not a lot of Asian dolls available for mothers to buy.
This week I worked on three more dolls and put them in my shop:

Kin has beautiful long red hair and light skin.
She has a boo-boo on her leg that she got climbing a tree today.
She is dressed in short pajamas, a white tee shirt, and a blue robe
and is carrying her stuffed froggie.

Akiko is dressed in a little blue skirt and white top with suspenders.
She is wearing pink boots and has pink ribbons in her hair.

Leia is a new doll who has been repainted.
She is dressed in a flowered dress.
Her pretty hair has a headband and a pink rose.
She is wearing pink Mary Janes.
